WoW Profession Leveling - How to Build Up Your Skills Fast!

It's a major question among new-bs. How do you level your profession without spending all of your time doing it? Most people don't mind spending some time on their professions in the game, but who wants to spend ALL their time doing it. That's just a waste.

There are some things to keep in mind as you start working to become a master blacksmith, enchanter, Jewel crafter, leatherworker, tailor, miner, etc. that will make things go a lot faster, and a lot smoother for you.

First, let's talk materials. For crafting professions (like leather, blacksmithing, etc) you have to have certain materials (or mats for short) in order to create your items. For the sake of ease, most people will simply get a gathering and a craft profession that feed into each other (mining for blacksmithing, skinning for leatherworking, etc). This is certainly an option, and if it works well for you, go for it! Another less used method is to build a gatherer character, or one who's job it is to get the materials you need exclusively. I've always found mining and herbalism to be the most profitable gathering professions. You would then use this character to feed your other characters the extra pieces they might need. These are also nice to have on hand in a main city near the auction house.

Next, don't be afraid to buy recipes for items you can use in the auction house. Just check the box next to the "current level" box to make sure you can use the items right away. Remember, the more you DO your crafting or gathering skills, the quicker you'll level. Try these tips out, see if they work well for you.
